Packing List for High School Ensemble Tour
In your BIG FRAMED BACKPACK (big enough to hold your sleeping bag, pad, clothing, and gear, small enough for you to carry easily and to fit into your tent):
- LINED WITH TRASHBAGS!!!! Wet gear is not happy! (I use one for my sleeping bag at the bottom and another for my clothes and such on top).
- Hiking shoes—broken in, or your sturdiest walking shoes
- Spoon/fork and cup/bowl
- small towel
- bathing suit
- sleeping bag
- sleeping bag pad
- pillow (or pillow case to stuff a sweatshirt in)
- medication
- rain gear—it will rain while you are up there. I promise. You need this.
- shirts (3)—wicking and fast drying are great.
- shorts
- socks
- underwear
- long pants
- sweatshirt (note: it will be much cooler on Skyline Drive, so be prepared!)
- extra plastic bags—great to separate used/smelly/wet gear
- Costume Supplies(enough for all 3 performances):
- costume shoes
- socks
- stuff to wear under your costume (t-shirt?)
In your SMALL DAYPACK (big enough to hold a water bottle, your lunch, your rain gear, an extra shirt, and a book. It should be easy to carry on your back while you hike):
- water bottle
- lunch and dinner for Wednesday
- $20 for food
- optional $20 for a souvenir
- In an easily-removable ziplock or stuff sack: All your smellies!(Anything with any scent whatsoever goes into this bag and will never go into your tent, where the scents could attract animals to the campsite).
- tick repellent and sun screen
- toiletries (comb, brush, contact stuff, face washing stuff, etc.)
- medication (enough for the full trip—give to your AD)
- deodorant
- toothpaste, toothbrush
- shaving cream, razor
- tampons, etc
- shampoo, etc
- make up (for performances)
NOTE:
One TPE tradition is to write personalized notes to one another on your TPE t-shirt. So, if you want to partake, bring along your TPE shirt or another shirt, or $15 to buy a t-shirt. Also, it's not too late to buy a fleece sweatshirt. They're $45 and come in Men's and Women's sizes.
