One week of Great Theatre!

This one-week program is designed to introduce the new camper to Traveling Players, teaching theatre and outdoor skills in a fun, relaxed environment.

Each day brings new theatre games and acting skills.  The campers will sample a variety of activities, including improvisation, physical theatre (stage combat and mask theatre), acting classes, outdoor skills, and introductions to two of the world’s greatest playwrights: Shakespeare and Moliere.  Located in Maryland at the Landon School, this week is great as an introduction to Traveling Players, or as a warm-up for the four-week Middle School Ensemble.

Intensive Theatre Training combined with a supportive community

Traveling Players has a staff to student ratio of 1:4, with each ensemble directed by a theatre professional with an advanced degree, aided by two assistant directors who have or are pursuing undergraduate degrees.  This allows for personalized attention – bringing out the best in every child.  To learn more about of staff, visit our Faculty page.

Traveling Players is an ensemble theatre company.  This means that we build groups of campers able to work together to mount a show featuring the whole group, with everyone given a chance to showcase his or her growth and talent.  Ensembles are not just built in the rehearsal space.  We take our campers through a series of team building exercises to facilitate the formation of strong relationships and campers that know they can depend on their fellows.
