Campers spend one fabulous week creating theatre, friendships and memories inside our air-conditioned Studio! Each day brings new games and skills: improvisation games, acting classes, physical theatre (stage combat and mask theatre), and introductions to two of the world’s greatest playwrights: Shakespeare and Molière. Campers get to be in a scene from a play — they can memorize the lines or not, it’s their choice. Young actors share what they’ve learned with family and fans at 2:30 pm on Friday — our Showcase Performance!
Traveling Players summer camps and classes always offer expert training in acting, character creation, physical comedy, stage combat, improvisation, and text analysis.
We also value the spirit of the ensemble. Our ensemble- and team-building adventures create a strong, supportive cast and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Your final day at camp will end with a Showcase Performance!

Acting created a place for me to express myself and to feel like people are listening — and being at Traveling Players made me feel as if I was worth listening to. It’s a wonderful feeling.

A Fun Filled Theatre Week for Younger Actors!

Our Acting Sampler Week is a fun summer acting program, perfect for elementary school beginner drama students who love theatre and performing arts.
This one week acting camp is designed to introduce the new camper to Traveling Players. Explore acting and outdoor skills in a fun, relaxed environment. Dive into classes in improv, acting, and physical theatre, and then perform for friends and family!
This week is great as an introduction to Traveling Players, as an add-on to the Mythology Ensemble or the Thespian Ensemble, or just as a fun way to spend a free week!
For current 3rd – 5th graders.
- Acting Sampler Week: August 10 – 14
The campers will sample a variety of theatre activities, including improvisation, acting classes, physical theatre (stage combat and mask theatre), outdoor skills, puppetry, and introductions to two of the world’s greatest playwrights: Shakespeare and Molière. Not new to acting? Our programs are customizable to the kids enrolled each week, allowing us to stretch our eager performers.
By focusing on classical theatre, Traveling Players trains performers who are bold, resourceful, and skilled. A summer at Traveling Players trains you to act not just anything, but anywhere. All the world’s a stage!
Each day brings new theatre games and new acting skills! This one-week program has a little bit of everything: improvisation, acting, Shakespeare, stage combat, mask, and outdoor fun! A fun place to make new friends and create imaginative adventures together!
A normal camp day starts with fun and games on the purple bus. Campers take daily classes in improvisation, acting, physical theatre, stage combat, puppetry, and mask performance. They also get time to rehearse for their showcase.
While the rest of camp has their weekly overnight, the samplers put on thier showcase! Campers arrive by bus as normal and have a typical day until 4pm. Then instead of going home they will begin to get ready for their performance. Parents can join us at 5:30 for an informal showing of the weeks work. At 6pm we’ll have a cast party around the campfire and parents can take their campers home by 6:30pm. Please note, that because the rest of camp is on an overnight there will not be bus service the following morning.
All-Inclusive Tuition: $550 $375 (digital program)
I did not need to wake her up in the mornings for the camp. Since the first day, she woke herself up and get ready for the camp by herself.
